Yes, Karen, there are at least two ways of reducing the file size as per your drawing requirement.
1. Use PURGE command on the drawing and it will remove every unused layer, block and other redundant objects making the file size smaller and a clean file overall.
2. Use write block to export the part of drawing that you actually need as a new DWG leaving behind all the clutter. This method has the best results and you can PURGE exported drawings to get the best results.
