I have a question about the Autocad beginners course, section ‘Modify diagram’, ‘reference command’, position in the video is 4:10.

The situation is you have to rotate a line 90 degrees anti clockwise, the source line has an angle of 16 degrees.

The video explains you have to enter a positive value of 16 degrees in order to ‘move the line 16 degrees back’.

The question is why do I have to enter a positive value of 16 degrees, I would expect to enter a negative value of 16.

    Best regards,

Io have this positive value degree, you need to type @ in the command blank line and write the angle you want without adding +or-.

    I think so.

This happens only for the “reference” feature of rotate command. If however, you use the normal rotate command then you will be required to just use a negative value for the clockwise direction of roatation.
